What People Say About Them

Jessie Versluys, Exec Producer, "Sophie is one of the best in the industry. Her care, confidence, thoroughness, creativity, and due diligence on every project are truly impressive. She handles editorial, creative, and compliance challenges with exceptional confidence and experience. I would work with her on every project if I could."

Christian Collerton, Series Director: "I’ve worked with Sophie many times over the past decade. She is the gold standard for series producers. Creative, collaborative, great with compliance and legals and brilliant working with contributors, both from an editorial and compliance perspective."

Production Coordinator: "Sophie is the definition of a brilliant documentary Producer, her consideration for the duty of care to contributors is second to none and she is incredibly thorough and organised in her work. Sophie is a valuable member of any team, balancing the creative ambitions of a film and distilling complex legal and compliance issues clearly."

The Human Behind The CV

Sophie’s got a rare superpower: balancing a thriving 15-year career in TV with raising three kids (and making it look deceptively effortless). Before diving into documentaries she trained as a journalist, gaining a distinction at City University, and her first job was working alongside Julian Assange at The Bureau of Investigative Journalism on the Iraq War Files.

When she’s not wrangling storylines or sorting contributor logistics, Sophie’s usually found outdoors hiking, running and cold water swimming, and even climbing Ben Nevis (which she did last winter!)
The focus, determination and tenacity she’s gained from both motherhood and mountains is exactly what makes her such a force at work.

Sophie brings a huge amount of care to every project, not just in terms of contributor duty of care (though she’s one of the best in the business), but in the way she hones stories, supports directors, and shoulders the messy, behind-the-scenes stuff with total grace.

Her journalism background shows in the rigour she applies to fact-checking and compliance, but she never lets that get in the way of emotional impact. She works across sensitive access, major talent, and complex compliance landscapes without ever making a fuss. She’s organised, brilliant in the edit, and a proper team player. Sophie’s the one you want steering the ship when the stakes are high.
