The Human Behind The CV

Born in Mexico City into a big half-Lebanese, half-Mexican family where everything revolved around food, stories and a house full of voices, Anuar moved to the UK for education and stayed to build his career. His love for the industry started early - some of his earliest memories are being on set with his uncle, a TV director back home, watching how life looked different through camera lenses. That connection to those early days never left him. Making his way as a foreigner with a name people sometimes pause over has taught him resilience and a stubborn energy that keeps him moving forward. He lives in Surrey with his wife (who also works in TV) and their two boys, who flatly refuse to learn Spanish despite his best efforts. He's also terrible at golf, which might be his greatest act of resilience yet.

Anuar brings infectious passion and drive that genuinely inspires teams to push themselves further. He's got a sharp editorial mind with strong instincts for story and structure, handling complex multi-storyline productions without losing sight of what makes compelling television. He's proven he can create ambitious new formats for streamers, build on established brands like Gold Rush, and develop brand new returnables - basically, he understands what works across the full spectrum from premium documentaries to high-volume factual entertainment. His global perspective and experience with high-profile personalities make him brilliant at navigating international productions. Plus he's both Emmy and BAFTA-winning.
